Social Narrative

Street parking is available along Emerald St. and cross streets. A bike rack is located on the west side of our building if you need to lock up your bike while you are spending time in our cafe. There are two doors: one on the west side of the building and one on the north side. The door on the north side of the building has an accessibility button for guests who need assistance with the door. 

When you come in the entrance at the north side of the building, turn left to order at the register. There is a pick sign that reads “Order Here” above the register. If you come in the entrance located to the west of our building, walk straight alongside the bar and turn right to order at the register. Our retail shelves and grab-and-go fridge are located across from the register. On our retail shelves you can find whole bean coffee, coffee brewing equipment, and other Dogwood gear. The grab-and-go fridge is to the right of the retail shelves. It houses bottled and canned beverages, sandwiches, hard boiled eggs, chia pudding, and salads.

At the register, you can order any of our beverages, pastries, chips, as well as purchase items from the grab-and-go fridge or coffee/merchandise shelves. Our rotating beverage menu can also be found at the register. After you order at the register, please wait in the cafe while your beverage is being prepared.

Once your beverage is ready, your name will be called, and your drink will be placed at the end of the bar next to the lids, sleeves, sugar, half and half, and straws. There is a pink sign that reads “Pick Up Here” above where your prepared beverage will be placed. Silverware, additional sugar, stir sticks, salt and pepper, and napkins are located to the right of the end of the bar. On your way out, you’ll find a bus bin under the table with the silverware, sugar, and stir sticks. Compost and trash are around the corner from the table with the silverware, additional sugar, and stir sticks. All of our cups, lids, straws, napkins, and sleeves are compostable.

Our cafe provides an assortment of hard and soft seating. We have two bathrooms that are available for public use. Please ask our baristas for the code to the bathrooms. Both are further down the hall from the bus bin, compost, and trash. If you see the wall of cats, keep walking just a little bit further. Both bathrooms have a baby changing table, and the bathroom on the right has an accessibility button. Patio seating is available on the west side of the building.
