Kilimbi is a smaller washing station but a very impressive one. Started in 2016, the station has already won a national cup of excellence. The manager, Joseph
Ntarindwa, has extensive experience with experimental coffee processing
methods. His station was the first in Rwanda to be given the rights to export
natural and honey coffees. This paved the way for other producers in Rwanda to export experimental coffee.
Joseph, an agronomist, provides farmers surrounding the station with agricultural support before and after each harvest. This helps them secure, process and produce high-quality coffee year after year.
We are really enjoying the clarity of this coffee and how clean of a cup it is. We are tasting some subtle stone fruit flavors with a refreshing acidity.
